The Dani Balogun Story

Aside from his studies, Dani had a love for sports. He was an avid soccer player and spent countless hours on the field working on his skills. But it was skateboarding that truly captured his heart. It started as a hobby, but quickly developed into a passion.

After completing his studies at ‘de Knotwilg’, he continued his academic pursuit at ‘Willem de Zwijger’ High School. Alongside his studies, Dani’s passion for skateboarding grew deeper, and he found himself competing in several competitions. Incredibly, his talent caught the attention of the skate store ‘Left’, which offered him a sponsorship.

However, Dani’s path took a surprising turn when a friend inspired him to explore the possibility of joining the army. Intrigued by the idea, he signed up for the examination in Amsterdam, which consisted of three components. Sadly, he failed the psychological test, but as per army regulations, he was allowed to try again after a year.

Determined to make it through, Dani took the examination once more, but, unfortunately, he failed again during the psychological component. Undeterred, he decided to pursue his other passion and enrolled in an education for sports.

While studying, Dani also worked at a nightclub in Rotterdam and landed modeling gigs on the side. His natural talent and good looks landed him opportunities to model for renowned brands such as Sloggi, Replay, and Mexx.

In 2008, Dani participated in a model contest in Rotterdam and emerged as the winner.

However, Dani’s heart was still set on the army, and he made a third attempt. This time, he passed all three components and was able to join the army’s boot camp in 2008. Despite his success in modeling, Dani had found his true calling in serving his country.

Balogun’s journey took a significant turn when he embarked on a new venture with a Multi-level marketing company on April 17th of 2012. 

In just six months, he accomplished remarkable growth. His transformation was striking as he learned how to pitch, improved his stage presence, posture, and vocabulary, and expanded his network. His financial growth was also significant.

Thanks to his dedication and hard work, Balogun achieved a significant milestone by earning the prestigious title of “Regional Vice President.” As a young and one of the few black men in Europe to attain this title, he proved that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. He learned that this achievement opened doors for himself and others, creating new opportunities.

The end of 2017 marked the beginning of an exciting new journey for Balogun. After visiting Ghana and his motherland Nigeria, which he had not seen in 20 years, he was inspired to start something in Africa.

In just four days, he knew that sustainable living was his calling, and upon returning to the Netherlands, he gathered his friends to share his experience and brainstorm ideas. This led to the creation of Sulex International, a business dedicated to sustainable living in Nigeria, in March 2018.

By April of the same year, he was back in Nigeria, meeting with the governor and ministers, and purchasing a large piece of land. In September 2018, Balogun’s family grew as he welcomed his daughter, Yemaya.

Alongside his project in Africa, he was also part of the Black Male Achievers project, which gained significant attention on social media. In November 2018, Balogun opened a medical center in Ogun state, Nigeria and had successful meetings regarding Sulex International and a community lifestyle center on Curacao in December 2018 and January 2019.

In October 2019, he launched his new venture, the African Connect, which aims to connect people from the diaspora. To kick off the company, the event ‘the African Dream’ was held in Amsterdam, featuring speakers from all over. 

These efforts culminated in a successful contract with the government to collaborate on a project for social, sustainable housing. Balogun’s journey is a testament to the power of passion and determination to make a meaningful impact on the world.

Dani’s journey has been full of twists and turns. From his time in the military to his successful venture with Sulex International, he has proven himself to be a resilient and adaptable entrepreneur.

After facing setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dani and his team pivoted their focus to meet the needs of the market. They received an unexpected order to build expat housing in the Netherlands, which led to the creation of a new venture – Sulex Bungalows. This shift allowed them to delve into the world of bungalows and chalets, which they embraced fully by mid-2020.

In October of 2020, Dani Balogun was presented with a life-changing opportunity that would take him back to his roots. It was his wife, Naomi Balogun, who inspired him to move to Ghana and explore new opportunities in Africa. Driven by his adventurous spirit and desire to make a difference, Dani made the bold decision to embark on this new journey. Despite the move, Dani remained committed to his work and continued to lead the successful completion of the first real estate projects on Curacao by the end of 2020. This move to Ghana marked a pivotal moment in Dani’s life and career, one that he was eager to embrace with open arms.

Through all of these experiences, Dani has shown that he is a visionary leader who is not afraid to take risks and pursue his dreams. His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and hard work, and his success is an inspiration to all who aspire to make their mark in the world of entrepreneurship.

Dani’s specific focus is to teach people about financial literacy in Africa and worldwide. Dani never forgets to give credit to his wife, Naomi Balogun, who has been a constant support system throughout his journey. Her unwavering dedication and generosity have been vital to his success. And as he moves forward in his ventures, he is extremely grateful for Naomi’s presence and support, both during the easy and hard times.

By 2025, Dani’s journey had already spanned continents — from Nigeria to the Netherlands, across Africa, the Caribbean and Europe. Each chapter added new layers to his vision: connecting people, resources, and opportunities across borders. Yet one region kept calling louder with every passing year — the Middle East.

Having spent significant time in Dubai over the years, Dani witnessed firsthand how the UAE had become a magnet for innovation, trade, and cross-continental collaboration. Entrepreneurs from Africa, Europe, and Asia were flocking to the Emirates, eager to plant their flag in a truly global market. But many struggled with the same challenges Dani once faced himself — navigating the complexities of compliance, sponsorship, and local partnerships.

Determined to make global expansion simpler and more transparent, Dani co-founded Bridgewise Global Management Consultancies, alongside a team of experienced partners in Dubai.

Their mission was clear:

“To guide businesses through every stage of development — from market entry to expansion — with transparency, trust, and long-term partnerships at the core.”

Bridgewise quickly became known for its hands-on, relationship-driven approach. From sourcing reliable local sponsors and connecting international founders to key industry leaders, to organizing corporate events and tailor-made business tours — the firm’s goal was to turn ambition into access.

This chapter marks a full-circle moment — from soldier and skater to founder and connector — proving once again that no matter where you start, purpose will always find its path when you move with intention.
